Stuff is happening to My Porch's porch

For those of you who haven't noticed, I have started a new blog devoted to the year-long house project that we will be embarking on in the next few weeks. It will have lots of fodder for people who are house and garden junkies. And lots of Lucy photos. In fact, the new blog is called Lucy's Forever Home.

So if you are the kind of person who likes this kind of thing, this is the kind of thing you will like (nod to Gertrude Stein Muriel Spark).

Not our house. Inspiration.

  1. Wow. Just looked at your new website, and I am in awe. Having moved to eight different homes in 18 years, I applaud your commitment to your forever home -- and to each other. I've never lived through any major renovations in a home because I've never lived in any long enough. Good luck, I'll be following with great interest.

  2. Ooo, I'm off to check it out. Love your inspiration house...and the car might be a little inspiring as well - in a brighter shade of red. :)

  3. Having gone through the renovation process with our 100 year old home (though most of ours was interior), I'm excited to see your journey. It's tough, but so rewarding - and I'm sure Lucy will be happy in the end!

  4. Love the new blog - but I think your nod is to Muriel Spark :) (An online search brings up a lot of results for different people... but I think it was Miss Jean Brodie.)

  5. D'oh! Simon, I don't think this is the first time you have had to correct me on that. I don't know why I never remember that.

  6. Just browsed through and I'm so jealous of the space you can make your own! Looking at these things while I'm in my tiny apartment always bring out the house/yard/puppy envy in me.

  7. Love that you're documenting and sharing your renovation experience in this way. We have a couple small and one major renovation we'd like to do on our new house, but they probably won't happen for a couple years. Until then, I can live vicariously through you!
