Book Lust GIVEAWAY

I have written about Nancy Pearl on many an occasion, even as far back as 2006. That was before I considered myself a book blogger.  For those who haven't perused her first Book Lust book you are missing a wonderful guide for what to read next. Granted, many of us have more than we could possibly need in our TBR piles, but Pearl helps one get beyond our normal comfort zones. Or if nothing else, I know we all like a list so you can page through it and check off the ones you have read.

I found a clean, used copy of this for 50 cents at a book sale and couldn't pass it up even though I already own it. So I am going to give it away. Unfortunately, I am going to have to limit it the giveaway to North America. The US Postal System's rate structure is killer when sending things abroad. (I nearly bankrupted us sending out those Anita Brookner copies.) The UK system must have cheaper options or I doubt that The Book Depository could exist.

So if you reside in North America and want a crack at this book, just leave a comment below by June 10th saying you want to be entered into the giveaway.

  1. I would love to win this. I went to see her at BEA and she was such an entertaining speaker. And it seemed like she has read absolutely everything!

  4. I'd love a chance to win this book and read it. I follow her on twitter and anywhere she mentions books but it would be nice to read the original book-and have that lovely long list of recommended reads. Thank you for entering me.

  8. Obviously I'm not applicable to enter, but I am intrigued by Nancy Pearl. It was her mention of Miss Hargreaves which gave it a hefty boost in the US (she loved it) and I had heard of her before, in a vague sort of way. In fact, I remember reading your 2006 review - not in 2006, but when I was going through your archives one time.

  9. I love Nancy! If you haven't already seen it, you should also check out Book Lust the TV show, on the Seattle channel (also available on-line) and the podcast on itunes. Great stuff. I am a total library nerd and also have the Nancy Pearl librarian Action figure...

  10. I'm not eligible to join but thanks for highlighting this. I just sampled it on my Kindle and I'm sold after reading her introduction. Off to read it now although I certainly don't need more books to add to my TBR pile!

  11. I hated this book because I filled up my TBR notebook while reading it! No, really, it was a great book. Because of it, I discovered the wonderful Moosepath League books by Van Reid. I highly recommend these books to anyone looking for adventure, romance, humor, and some history. They're like Mark Twain and Charles Dickens combined, but with Mr Reid's own touch. Good, old-fashioned storytelling.

  13. Not only do I want to read this, I NEED to read it, hence winning is my goal.
I'm like a blind bird in the forest: I've no idea where I'm going. I read one book and it leads me to another - one blog, and it leads me to another - You! But there is no route here and my wanderings are beginning to circle back 'round on themselves. I need direction, I need information and I think this book is just the ticket! And....I found you and this enticing little entry on my birthday :).....so, please sir, I'd ecstatic to win. Crossing digits!

  14. I was just on Nancy Pearl's website looking at her Book Lust Shop, asking myself why I hadn't heard of these books. I go nuts over books about books.

Anyhow, I'd like to enter the giveaway, Thomas :)
