Playing Tourist: Monticello

Thomas Jefferson's home and plantation. Although the house is very interesting. The vegtable garden is always my favorite thing at Monticello. Even in early April one can see what a deliciouis patch of veggies this is.

  1. Okay - I give up - what are those funny upside down pot thingys?

  2. They are called cloches (French for bell) and they help keep frost away from plants in the early spring.

  3. I SO love Monticello. I used to visit once per year but haven't made it back there for the past couple of years. Your pictures are really making me yearn. I also love the gardens.
